For a long time been a standard glass bottle, but improvements in the packaging industry in the U.S. in the 1940s inspired by Swedish businessman Ruben Rausinga to search for alternatives. He developed a method for producing sealed vessel made of a special board and zapakovki. The technology is called Tetra Pak – just called and waterproof cardboard. In the late 1960s, this became the standard packaging for storage of storable milk.

He became the answer to the question of how to simplify the portability of half a dozen cans of beer. Research Engineer of Illinois Tool Works named Jules Ougleza Poupitch received three patents for his inventions from 1959 to 1963. He was the first who saw the potential of plastic and used it to create a package with a minimum expenditure of effort and material

Single or double.

During the active development of road transport in the 1920s, the issue of road safety rose very sharply. Englishman Percy Shaw, inspired by the case of the reflection of light in the eyes of a cat headlight in 1934 created the first single or double, and called it a “Cat’s Eye.” His invention is used to this day, contributing to road safety and not wasting energy

Rubber band.

The rubber industry in the UK was founded by Thomas Hancock in the mid-nineteenth century. In the mid-1840s, working with his American counterpart, Charles Gudearom, Hancock discovered the effect of curing – the heated rubber with the addition of sulfur acquired a much more useful properties. Mr. Hancock patented process, and a year later one of the licensees, Steve Perry, used it to create a rubber band.

Prior to the general electrification of houses and before the fruit and vegetables are available year-round, canned in glass jars was the most common way to store food. The company Weck, established January 1, 1900 became famous all over the world, due to the fact that the patented method of preservation. Now, when buyers are more concerned about natural products, conservation is undergoing a revival.

The origin of tin goes back to the days of Napoleon. He needed a means of ensuring food supplies, which would not be spoiled for a long time, and he announced a competition for a solution to this problem. In 1809 Nicolas Appert offered to put food in airtight containers, after sterilizing them in boiling water. In 1810 a British merchant Peter Durand suggested that instead of glass to use metal containers, covered with tin, and King George III issued him a patent for this invention.

First there were pencils in the sixteenth century, when Kumberlende, England, found deposits of graphite. It had been thought that this lead ore, but in 1779, Karl Wilhelm Schiele proved that it is carbon. Nicolas Jacques Conte developed a method proivzodstva pencils, buyout is still in use: graphite rod is baked in the oven, and is in a wooden sheath.

The idea of making trays of pressed fibrous material belongs to the American Martin Kizu. In the early twentieth century, he tried to press trays made of wood with steam. He soon realized that it is easier to use sawdust, which can be given any form. So he created a simple and inexpensive method of producing packaging material. Despite the fact that much has changed since the 1930s, cardboard trays of eggs were exactly the same.

You won’t ever actually need this skill, hopefully, but learning how to throw a knife and hit your mark definitely leaves you with a feeling of action hero accomplishment. Here’s how to do it the right way.

Wired’s How-To Wiki states that the key to a good throw, aside from selecting a well-balanced knife, is the grip:

From 12 feet, you’ll throw a full-spin rotation. Grab the knife by the handle, as you would a hammer, but keep your thumb along the top edge for stability and to prevent over-rotation.

Unlike say, this isn’t the kind of thing you should just leap into, of course. In addition to their tips Wired has several in-depth resources to share like KnifeThrowing.info.

Even if you’re not planning on taking up the art of knife throwing any time soon, you can still enjoy the following video. This clip is pulled from the show Time Warp—think Mythbusters meets stop-motion videography—and shows off some pretty slick weapons throwing in slow motion. Jump to 1:50 to see them in action.
